Confident answers can still be wrong
Know what to check before trusting an AI-generated claim.
In plain language
A fluent answer can contain a false detail, a misleading summary or a nonexistent reference. Confidence of wording is not proof of correctness.
For a claim that matters, open the cited source and check whether it actually supports the statement. A real link can still be irrelevant. Ask the system to distinguish supported facts from uncertainty and to say when the available evidence is insufficient. Search and retrieval can help, but do not guarantee a correct answer.
An assistant gives you a paper title. Search the publisher or authors’ official pages, open the paper, and compare its findings with the assistant’s claim.
Try it yourself
Choose one factual claim in an AI answer. Open its cited source and identify the exact passage that supports it.
